Lewisham Press Release:
Lewisham’s 24/7 virtual library takes a great leap forward this month with the launch of the exciting new e-books and e-audio books service.
From 22nd February, readers can visit the Virtual Library on http://lewisham.lib.overdrive.com. Once they log in, they can borrow e-books and e-audio-books for up to two weeks. These files can be saved to personal devices such as MP3 players, eReaders and iPhones. When the loan time finishes, the files will automatically delete themselves.
The site has full instructions for use, and a handy ‘quick start’ guide. Readers will need a library card and a home broadband connection. Provided in partnership with Bexley and Bromley libraries, this gives Lewisham residents access to a wide range of e-books and e-audio books – from the latest Dan Brown blockbuster to a variety of easy to follow "how to books".
This additional service complements Lewisham online reference collection of 15 brilliant resources to use at home, at work, in the library or on the go – wherever and whenever suits you. All you need is a library card to do your homework with Britannica Online, read 63 UK newspapers and magazines with NewsUK, check out your ancestors with Ancestry, or do the crossword with Credo Reference.
