NHS Advice on Swine Flu
GOT FLU? STAY AT HOME
If you experience a sudden fever, cough or shortness of breath or have a headache, sore throat, tiredness, aching muscles, chills, sneezing, runny nose or loss of appetite you may have swine flu.
For most people this is a mild illness and you should start to feel better after a few days without needing to go to your GP or A&E.
Help yourself and others by not spreading the virus.
The best thing you can do is stay at home, rest, drink plenty of fluids and take over-the-counter flu remedies to help relieve the symptoms.
It is particularly important that you talk to your doctor if you think you have swine flu and are pregnant, very young, over 65, or have long-term conditions such as asthma or diabetes.
1 If you feel very unwell:
Check your symptoms online at www.nhs.uk
or call the Swine Flu information line on 0800 1 513 513
2 Still concerned?
If you have taken these steps and are still concerned call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or your GP for more advice.
3 Please do not go to A&E unless you are seriously ill.

Just a quick reminder that the next Lee Green Local Assembly meeting will be tomorrow, Saturday 4 July in Manor House Gardens from 11am-2pm. You'll be able to find out what the Assembly has been up to over the last year, and give your views on how to improve Manor Park. This is also a great opportunity to meet local groups and societies and enjoy entertainment provided by Northbrook School. It should be a great day - hope to see you there!
Car servicing in Lewisham
Lewisham Press Release:
Car servicing in Lewisham
Complaints about car servicing recorded by Lewisham Council increased by nearly 50% in 2008/9 compared with 2007/8. This reflects a national trend and car servicing is amongst the top 10 most complained about trade sectors.
The Motor Industry Code of Practice was launched late last year in response to consumer concerns about pricing, quality of work and customer service. It offers a free advice line and conciliation service for consumers.
Consumers can now search for a local approved garage using the following link:
http://service.motorindustrycodes.co.uk/consumers/home.html
The cost to garages to join is £75 + VAT. There are already more than a dozen garages within the borough who have joined the scheme.
