My sincere apologies to anyone who has had trouble contacting me by email in the past two weeks. Our ISP at the time, 186k, appears to have been caught up in a dispute with Tiscali which resulted in Tiscali cutting off broadband access to all 186k customers who were on Tiscali lines. No warning, no explanations, no apologies, in fact no contact! Bizarrely our email addresses continued to partially work. Spam seemed to have no trouble getting through but the stuff we wanted to read frequently didn't, and regardless where we tried from we mostly couldn't send email either. So if you've experienced problems my apologies, but please re-send your email as we now have a new ISP and a fully working email system. The only thing I would ask is that before sending you change the @mailbox.com part of my address to @googlemail.com as the old @mailbox addresses no longer work.
I would not have believed how stressful being cut off from the virtual world would be. It's every bit as stressful as moving house, especially when you have no idea what the problem is, or why it is happening, and Ofcom turned out to be no help at all in this situation. Something like normal service has however returned!
