Local Assembly Social A Success!

While attendance wasn't as good as at the two previous Local Assembly meetings, the turn out for the Assembly Social on the 17th was still pretty good, and we had excellent support from local stakeholders who were on hand to tell residents all about what they do, and how they could get involved. Exhibitors included:

FUSS (Friends and Users of Staplehurst Shops)

Northbrook C of E School

Lee Fair Share

Broomleigh Housing Association

Lee Manor Society

Lee Oasis

Dacre Morris

Mini Cook (fun cooking classes for pre school children)

Lewisham Homes

Glendale Grounds Management

Nature's Gym

Lee Green Met Police Safer Neighbourhood Team

Manor House Gardens User Group

Diabetes UK

Manor House Library Project Group

Lee Dancers

Users & Friends of Manor House Library

Manor Park User Group

Friends of Hither Green Triangle Nature Reserve

Living Streets

Lewisham Cyclists

There were plenty of mince pies on hand to kick off the Christmas season and it was an excellent opportunity to find out who is doing what in the Ward. A successful and enjoyable evening, and an event that I'm sure is going to become a fixture in the Ward calendar.

Many thanks to all the stakeholders who made the evening such a success, and to Ade and the Assembly team from Lewisham for all their hard work organising the refreshments and the hall.

See you at the next social in 2009!

Lee Green Local Assembly Social Event Invitation!

On behalf of the Lee Green Ward Local Assembly your councillors have great pleasure in inviting you to come along the Assembly's Drop-In Social event between 7 and 9:30pm on Monday 17th November, at Lochaber Hall, Manor Lane Terrace, London SE13 5QL.

There's no formal agenda for the evening as this is intended as an opportunity to socialise and meet new people, and the plan is to have a 'marketplace' of stalls where you can find out about the societies and organisations active in the Ward. Over 100 residents have attended the last two assembly meetings, so this is a great opportunity to meet your neighbours and find out who is doing what in the Ward.

You can find out more about the Local Assembly, what it does, and how you can take part here.

And please feel free to contact me if you'd like more information about the Social evening, or if you are part of a group, or run an activity which you'd like to promote at the social and you haven't already received an invitation from us.

Postal scam warning

We've been advised that there is a postal scam in operation although we've received no reports of these cards turning up in Lee Green as yet.

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS
(Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel
and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate
number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you
will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655, and contact our police Safer Neighbourhood Team on 020 8721 2482
