Met Police Crime Map

The Met Police have an experimental London crime map online. It isn't detailed, or that up to date - if you select Lewisham in the boroughs search box you get a combined figure for burglary, robbery and vehicle crime for May (570) and June (612) - but it's a start. It does however show London as a whole, and rate each borough as to whether crime is high, above average, average, below average or low. Lewisham you'll be pleased to hear is average although I'm sure we'd all like it to be low.

Northbrook Action Group Meeting

Northbrook Action Group (NAG) is holding a public meeting on the 3rd September at 7.30 pm at Lochaber Hall, to outline their concerns about the Northbrook School planning application.

The Meeting Agenda is:
1. Welcome and introductions
2. The proposed design of Northbrook School
3. Objections to the design
4. The planning process: what happens next
5. How can you influence the planning process
6. AOB

Further details on the NAG website.

Exhibition of revised Northbrook plans

An exhibition of the revised Northbrook plans has been arranged for Tuesday 26th August, from 7-8pm at Ennersdale. As far as I'm aware there will be no officers from Lewisham in attendance but the design team and their relevant specialists and project managers will be there to answer questions. Please be aware that this is not a formal planning consultation exercise, (the official re-consultation period actually ends on the 26th), just an opportunity for residents to see copies of the revised plans. However, you'll still be able to send in letters and emails supporting or objecting to the proposals right up until it goes before one of the planning committees, probably some time in September. (Latest update is Planning Committee C on September 11th, but please be aware this could change.)

No councillor surgeries in August

Apologies as I should have posted this earlier (and apologies to anyone who turned up at the Good Shepherd this morning), but a quick reminder that there will be no councillor surgeries in August. We did give notice of this on Leepedia back in January, and on the community board surgery notice, and on our surgery hand outs at the Local Assembly. We each have a day job as well as being a councillor and we're taking some time out in a month where surgeries are traditionally dead to recharge our batteries while still dealing with urgent and on-going issues like Northbrook by email or telephone.
