Blackheath Fireworks 2006!

Date: SATURDAY 4TH NOVEMBER 2006
Location: Blackheath
Time: 8pm

Free entry.

Blackheath Fireworks are being managed on behalf of London Borough of Lewisham and Greenwich Council this year by Festival Fireworks UK Ltd, a British company with over 60 years experience

Please arrive early and use public transport or walk. Please note there is no parking on the heath or surrounding areas.

Bus services will run to Lee, Lewisham and Greenwich.
Train services to Blackheath, Lewisham, Maze Hill and Greenwich stations – please check for train times. Blackheath Station is likely to be very congested and it is advisable to use the other stations if at all possible. It is approximately a 10-minute walk to the heath from Lewisham station.

Please do not bring fireworks or sparklers.

Road Closure Information
In order to manage visitors and traffic in the lead up to the event, some temporary road closures and traffic movement restrictions will be in place during the evening. The following roads around the heath and event site will be closed to traffic from 6.00pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 4th November:

Blackheath Village will be closed to traffic from 6.00pm.

Other road closures:

• Charlton Way between Maze Hill and Shooters Hill Road
• Duke Humphrey Road between Shooters Hill Road and Tranquil Vale
• Long Pond Road
• Prince Charles Road
• Talbot Place
• Prince of Wales Road
• Tranquil Vale between Duke Humphrey Road and Royal Parade
• Montpellier Row from Prince Charles Road to Royal Parade
• Royal Parade
• Maze Hill between Shooters Hill Road and Charlton Way

Lee Dancers - Traditional English Country Dancing

Lee Dancers will be meeting this Thursday from 7.30 - 9pm in the Church Hall at the Good Shepherd Church in Handen Road.

Manor House Gardens User Group meeting tonight!

There will be a meeting of the Manor House Gardens User Group tonight (Wednesday 18th) at 8pm at Northbrook School. This will be the first meeting with the new committee and as ever there will be lots to discuss so why not come along and join in?

Lewisham Library & Information Service are holding a series of open days at Manor House Library in Old Road, Lee SE13 where they'll be presenting the plans for the refurbishment of Manor House Library:

FUSS Christmas Fair!

The FUSS Staplehurst Road Christmas Fair takes place this year on Saturday 2nd December between 3 & 7pm and there's still time to get involved, so why not come along to the next FUSS meeting on Tuesday 7th November in the Parish Room of the Good Shepherd in Handen Road at 7pm. The Christmas Fair is a lot of fun and with your help it could be bigger and better than ever!

Bogus Caller Alert

From our Safer Neighbourhood Team:

This e mail is to make you all aware of a female suspect working within our ward deceiving people to gain money. She states that she has lost her bag or had it stolen and her house keys also taken. She asks for money to pay for a locksmith. She often says that she lives either on the same street as the house she is calling at or near by and claims that she will return later that day with the money she has taken.

A white female
Aged in her late 20's to early 30's
Approximately 5'4" tall
Fair/Mousy brown hair
Of presentable appearance
Has been known to have 2 young girls with her, aged about 9 and 11 years old

If this woman should happen to call at your address, please call 999 immediately. We are keen to apprehend this individual for the numerous crimes she has committed.
