Any questions for June's Transport Liaison?

I’d like to hear from anyone who has questions relating to local buses, bus routes, bus stops, bus shelters, train services and stations, and the DLR that they’d like me to get answers to at the next Transport Liaison committee meeting in June. I need to have your questions by Thursday 25th May and I’ll get back to you with the answers I get after the meeting on the 13th June 2006.

Lib Dem Team win in Lee Green!

It was a lot of hard work, and I'm totally exhausted, but I'm very pleased to announce that the Lib Dem Team won the election for Lee Green on Thursday! Even though there was a new electronic counting system it still took almost as long as the old manual system, so we didn't get home until after 4:30 am. Thursday was a very long day. There was a 35.8% turnout and I now have Sven and Brian on the team, which hopefully means I'll be able to ease off on the over work throttle! :-) The Lib Dems won all three seats in Blackheath too, and my colleague Andrew Milton is joined by Dave Edgerton in Lewisham Central.

You can find the Lee Green result here.

... and the full results here.

The Lib Dem group has gone from 7 to 17, the Conservatives from 2 to 3, the Telegraph Hill Socialists hold steady at 2, and the Greens have gone from 1 to 6. Hopefully we can all really crack on now and get things done.

And on behalf of the Lee Green Team can I thank everyone in Lee Green for being so encouraging and supportive, and for turning out to vote for us on Thursday.

Cllr Paul Bentley

82 Manor Park

There's a lot of concern about the rubbish that's piled up in front of 82 Manor Park and the way the building has been left to deteriorate.

These kinds of issues are dealt with under Section 215 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and the Council have been asked to issue a new S215 to the owners of the property for clearance of the rubbish and to ensure compliance.
